Trump and Hitler

This political cartoon is based on more recent events and concepts relating to Donald Trump. However, despite the fact that is is targeting a current political figure, the artist does a great job of including a well-known political figure from the past, Adolf Hitler. We all know who Hitler is, what he has done, and what he believed in. He was well known for his discrimination against Jews and other minority groups. The speech bubbles in this cartoon show the two agreeing with one another, which suggests that Donald Trump is similar to Adolf Hitler. Even more, the claims that Trump makes in his speech bubbles portray him as strongly for the discrimination of Muslims and other minority groups. Ironically, this sounds very similar to what Hitler was trying to do. I would describe this cartoon as very negative towards Donald Trump, considering that Adolf Hitler is usually looked at as a bad influence, and the two are compared as equals. Another aspect that the artist uses to further prove their point is by visibly making Hitler's side darker and more shadowed, possibly suggesting that he is an evil or dark character. Another thing that I noticed is that Donald Trump looks very passionate about the points he is making, which suggests that he is overwhelmingly for discrimination.
